About this artwork. A human being is happy when their life is in harmony. This work was written in the Omani village called Hadash, a place I have fallen in love with forever. It tells the story of the amazing cooperation between humans and animals: here, goats are an integral part of life—they share a roof, provide milk, meat, and wool, and have long been unable to live without one another. The woman who lives in this house always smiles at me, greeting me sincerely and tenderly, even though we don’t speak the same language. Her home is a home for anyone with a pure heart and an open mind. Her goats are her treasure and her pride. She loves them; she sings to them when she goes to feed them; she looks at them with love because they are her daily joy. Even if you don’t run into her on the street, she’ll be at home—as her cute red slippers will surely tell you. They seem to never change over the years and are clearly very dear to her.
