About this artwork. The painting tells the story of generational continuity through the history of a small house where several generations of one family live in the village of Hadash, hidden among the rocky ridges of the Hajar mountain range. This family nest is the fruit of the labour of those who have lived there, and it will undoubtedly reflect the efforts of future generations as well.
Yet the most truthful narrator here is not the solidly built walls, nor the cleanliness maintained day after day, but the beautiful pomegranate tree, nurtured by caring hands and a kind heart. It takes many decades to grow a magnificent, spreading tree that yields juicy red fruit each year, and this remarkable family has clearly succeeded in doing so.
